Roswell Barn (now deceased)

This 12 x 16 plein air painting was sold and shipped today. The painting of a horse barn that sat on the corner of Mountain Park Rd and Rte 92 in Roswell GA was painted on an overcast spring day. I had heard through local papers that the property was sold and going to be made into a park and felt I had to paint it then and not wait. Good thinking it was torn down later. The small hill with trees survives - the big tree to the left (actually so much more dramatic than I painted it) also survives but now reigns over a very busy dog park and parking lot. The park is the Leita Thompson park and has appalacian style trails running up to 3 miles and length. beautiful natural park. the mountain laurels bloomed this last spring and the creeks were running high.
